Vow Renewals

Vow renewals

Already married and looking to renew your vows? Perhaps you have a special anniversary coming up. What better way to mark the occasion than to gather your family and friends abroad at a stunning location. The bride can even still wear a white dress and the service can be as fancy or informal as you feel like. You can celebrate how far you have come together as a couple and toast your marriage, looking forward with joy to the years still to come.

Even though having a priest or deacon is not a requirement, having one present to offer a special blessing is ideal. This would take place in a church or chapel and be during a Mass. Alternatively, since a vow renewal can actually take place anywhere, you may choose for it to be outdoors on the beach or in a garden. You could have your ‘ceremony’ in a castle, a small hotel or a lovely restaurant. Whatever you have in mind, we can help!

Vow renewal or convalidation?

One thing to bear in mind is that a convalidation and a vow renewal are two different things. A vow renewal is for couples who were previously married in the Catholic Church. If you were previously married in a civil ceremony outside of the Catholic Church, you do not need a vow renewal — you need a convalidation to make your marriage recognised by the Church. We can still absolutely help you but, in this case, your convalidation would need to take place in a church or chapel.
